Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore has recently reached the milestone of 100 years since its foundation.

It was founded in 1921 by father Agostino Gemelli, one of the most prominent psychologists of his time. With its 40,000 students, 10,000 graduates per year, and 1,200 professors and researchers, the università Cattolica  is by far the biggest private University in Europe, counting up to 12 Faculties, 20 Doctoral programmes, 87 Research centres and 10 spin-offs.

Moreover, it has ranked first in Italy for the active presence of companies in its campuses, and ranked 58th worldwide.
According to the QS World University Ranking, it belongs to the first 300 universities in 13 specific disciplinary fields, among which Economics & Econometrics, Psychology and Accounting & Finance, Business & Management Studies, and Sociology.

ALTIS Graduate School Business and Society

Founded in 2005, ALTIS is one of the 8 Graduate Schools of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
As the Graduate School Business & Society, ALTIS is committed to developing new knowledge and contributing to the academic and policy debate on a sustainable approach to entrepreneurship and management across all sectors. Its areas of activity (Research – Education – Consulting) are developed in synergy.

Its strong ties with the corporate world guarantee a pragmatic approach towards the main issues of our time, which are being analysed and addressed through educational programmes for executives and consultancy services on sustainability.

The people of ALTIS are experts in strategic sustainable management, social impact measurement and reporting, and sustainable finance. In particular, our researchers cover all major topics related to management and entrepreneurship, among which sustainable strategic management, impact entrepreneurship, social enterprises in Africa, impact measurement and evaluation, and stakeholder management.

E4Impact Foundation

E4Impact is an initiative launched in 2010 by ALTIS, with the objective of training impact entrepreneurs in the developing world to support the start-up and growth of their businesses.

In 2015, E4Impact became a Foundation with the support of Associazione Genesi, Mapei, WeBuild, and the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and Always Africa Association. Later, Eni, Intesa Sanpaolo and VueTel joined E4Impact as Corporate Participants and Diana Bracco, Michele Carpinelli and Jean-Sébastien Decaux as Individual Participants.

To achieve its goals, it offers programmes (MBAs, Certificates and Accelerators) in Impact Entrepreneurship in 14 African countries, in partnership with ALTIS and local universities. So far, over 3.000 entrepreneurs have been trained and a hundred more are currently under training.

The Foundation also supports the expansion of European SMEs in Africa and takes part in multilateral projects aimed at empowering local business owners.
